A non software related post – your help would be appreciated

This is not about a new version of USB Image Tool, as you would expect here. It’s about helping a little girl and her father, who have lost mother/wife to cancer. If you consider donating for USB Image Tool, please think about directing your donation to this fund raising campaign instead. Thank you.

USB Image Tool 1.90

September 25th, 2022

The new version of USB Image Tool adds a couple of new features. A new section on the info tab will show details about running backup/restore tasks (time started, estimated ending time, average speed). A new feature will check the device for fake size information by testing the whole drive data integrity. I also added a new option to list multiple volumes on an USB drive, even if they are formatted with a file system, that is not accessible from Windows. All changes and bugfixes can be found in the changelog.

USB Image Tool 1.84

April 2nd, 2022

Version 1.84 fixes the program closing unexpected, when combining backup + verify option + zipped image format.

A quick note on zlib: A recent security issue was discovered in zlib versions before 1.2.12 (please see https://www.zlib.net/ for more information). USB Image Tool still uses 1.2.11, due to some issues with the Visual Studio contribution projects in the last zlib 1.2.12 release. I’m working on a version to implement 1.2.12 in USB Image Tool, but I need to sort out the current trouble with compiling the static zlib for Win32 x86.

USB Image Tool 1.80

April 4th, 2020

New version 1.80 adds support for high-res DPI settings. This requires .NET version 4.7 to be installed (instead of prior necessary 4.0 as minimum requirement). The blurry look should be gone now when using DPI zoom settings. I also fixed an issue, where the 2nd volume description was not displayed correctly.

USB Image Tool 1.75

August 14th, 2018

I finalized version 1.75 and fixed some things in connection with volume locking/unlocking, that made the “Fix GPT after restore” option not working properly in all situations. I also implemented reset mode for the command line tool. Further information can be found in the prior beta version post and changelog.
